HOW DOES THE MYJEMMA SMART JEWELLERY WORK?

The digital functionality of MyJemma jewellery is based on an Internet connection that opens in the web browser of a smartphone when the NFC microchip or QR code in a piece of jewellery gets activated. The jewellery works with over 320 Androind and Windows phone models. Also the new iPhone 7, 7+, 8 and X models can read NFC tags with a free app ("NFC TagInfo by NXP" in the Apple store).

The buyer of the jewellery (account manager) can upload specific content (videos, photos and messages) on a jewellery account located in a secure cloud service. The buyer needs a smartphone, tablet, or computer with Internet connection to create and manage the account. Photos and videos can be uploaded to the account directly from the archieves of the device immediately after the jewellery purchase. Adding and editing the content is fun and effortless with an easy-to-use web interface accessible from the MyJemma website. The buyer can change account content as often as they like within the limits of the selected account type. Just register, sign in to your account, and upload the best moments of your life.

The gift recipient (user of the jewellery) can access and visualise the content of the jewellery account with a modern Android, Windows, or iOS (Apple) smartphone by using the jewellery as an admission key. The videos, photos and messages uploaded on the account by the buyer can be visualised only by touching the jewellery with an NFC-enabled smartphone or by scanning the QR code in the jewellery.

Each MyJemma emotion jewellery automatically has a 24 month free-of-charge subscription for a Silver-level jewellery account. The Silver account may be upgraded in our Webshop to the Gold or Diamond level, which can hold more photos and videos (jewellery account descriptions and prices can be found here). One person can buy several MyJemma emotion jewellery pieces and create unique content for each separate account to give joy and happiness to different persons.

We recommend using the jewellery with a recent browser version of Edge (version 25 and higher), Firefox (42.0 and higher), Safari (9.0 and higher) or Chrome (47.0 and higher), in other words a version released in 2015 or later. The jewellery works the best with a Android (6.0 and higher), Windows (10 mobile) and Apple (iOS 9 and higher) smartphone, in other words a phone with an operating system released in 2015 or later.


QUICK INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO USE THE MYJEMMA JEWELLERY

Buyer of the jewellery

1. Create a MyJemma jewellery account with Android, Windows, or iOS (Apple) smartphone, tablet, or computer:

  • Buy the MyJemma emotion jewellery from our Webshop.
  • Register as a user and sign in to the account.
  • For registration, we recommend that you give your permanent personal email address rather than one that may change over time.
  • Give a nick name for the jewellery account (e.g., the name of the gift recipient).
  • Add content to your account directly from the video and photo galleries on your smartphone, tablet, or computer by using the simple user interface.
  • You can manage several jewellery accounts at the same time; just sign in to the Service and upload new content to each of your accounts.

2. Link the jewellery to an account with your smartphone:

  • If you have an NFC phone, touch the back of the jewellery with your phone and follow the prompt.
  • If you don't have a NFC phone, scan the QR code of the jewellery with a QR camera app and follow the prompt.
  • Sign in to the MyJemma Service and link the jewellery to an account.
  • If you wish to secure the account access, set up a four-digit PIN.
  • Write the PIN on the sticker at the bottom of the gift box. The gift recipient needs the PIN to enter the account.

3. Everything is now set:

  • Give the jewellery as a present or wear it yourself.

1. To view the content of the jewellery you need an Android, Windows, or iOS (Apple) smartphone:

  • If you have an NFC phone, touch the back of the jewellery with your phone and follow the prompt.
  • If you have a smartphone, scan the QR code of the jewellery with your camera app and follow the prompt.
  • Enter the PIN from bottom of the gift box. The first-time user should provide an email address for restoring the PIN (we recommend using your permanent personal email rather than one that may change over time).
  • Visit and enjoy your jewellery account as often as you like.

MYJEMMA JEWELLERY ACCOUNTS

There are three MyJemma jewellery account types with different storage capacities: Silver, Gold, and Diamond. The accounts are sold as 12-month subscription periods, to be paid at the beginning of each subcription year. Each MyJemma emotion jewellery has a 24-month long free-of-charge subscription for a Silver-level account, starting from the purchase date of the jewellery. You can upgrade the jewellery account to the Gold or Diamond level in our Webshop. You may also lower the account level when the current subscription is due. You renew your account in our Webshop when your current subscription is due.

Silver account is for persons who want to store and share a couple of videos and a few photos and messages at one time. The account content can be edited as often as desired within the account’s storage capacity. After the initial free-of-charge period of 24 months, the Silver account costs 12 euros for each subsequent 12-month subscription period. The storage capacity of a Silver account is 100 MB.

Gold account is for persons who want to store and share a few videos and several photos and messages at one time. The account content can be edited as often as desired within the account’s storage capacity. Upgrading from Silver to a Gold level costs 10 euros for the first 24-month long subscription (to be paid when purchasing the jewellery) and 15 euros per subsequent 12-month subscription period. The storage capacity of a Gold account is 300 MB.

Diamond account is for persons who want to store and share several videos and numerous photos and messages at one time. The account content can be edited as often as desired within the account’s storage capacity. Upgrading from Silver to a Diamond level costs 15 euros for the first 24-month long subscription (to be paid when purchasing the jewellery) and 21 euros per subsequent 12-month subscription period. The storage capacity of a Diamond account is 1 GB.

OUR TECHNOLOGIES IN SHORT

Near field communication (NFC) is a form of contactless communication between a tag and end-user devices like smartphones or tablets. NFC works like Bluetooth without needing to upload any apps. The advantage over Bluetooth is that NFC connection is immediately ready for use without device pairing: just a simple touch of the tag with your NFC-enabled device opens the connection. Over 300 Android and Windows phone models have the NFC feature (check the phone list here). In our concept, the NFC tag inside a piece of jewellery communicates with a smartphone and serves as the key to a specific jewellery account. The big news is that also iPhone 7, 7+, 8 and X models can read NFC tags (just load the free app "NFC TagInfo by NXP" from Apple store)!

The QR (Quick Response) code is a matrix barcode that transfers information quickly to a reader (e.g., smartphone) and executes the command of the code. The QR code can be scanned with the smartphone’s camera app, which is either pre-installed or downloaded free of charge from the internet (e.g., Google Play store and Apple store; in the app search window, type “QR code reader”). We recommend downloading an advertisement-free app. Each MyJemma emotion jewellery contains a unique QR code that is the key to a specific jewellery account.
